FESTIVAL OF LESSONS AND CAROLS: This presentation by the Madison Diocesan Choir will be on Sunday, December 21, 5:30 PM, at Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center. Bishop Morlino will preside. Harpist Mary Ann Harr will be the special musical guest, accompanying the choir. All are invited. No admission; please bring a non-perishable food item to share with those in need. BEREAVEMENT SERIES

St. Thomas Aquinas Church will be hosting a five-week Bereavement Series for anyone who has lost a loved one. This series, in a supportive faith-based setting, starts November 10. Cornerstone Young Adults (18-39)

Cornerstone Young Adults (18-39) will meet the first Thursday of every month, starting October 2, for an All Saints and Angels prayer group. Cornerstone’s mission is to gather Catholic young adults and those of similar faiths to cultivate and share their faith, contribute to the community and enjoy fellowship. The group will be meeting at St. Dennis Parish Fellowship Hall, Madison, at 6:15 PM. The format will consist of an opening prayer and acknowledgements, an offering of petitions, and a closing with dessert and social time. All are welcome! Bishop Robert C. Morlino and the Madison Diocesan Tribunal along with the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters held the closing session of the diocesan process regarding the beatification of the Venerable Samuel Mazzuchelli on Thursday, August 21 at 4:30 PM in the Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa Mound. Following the closing session, all documentation were sent to the Vatican’s Congregation for the Causes of Saints for their study. SAMUEL GROUP: The Apostles of the Interior Life a community of religious sisters mainly from Italy, are sponsoring a one-year program entitled, Samuel Group to help young people with interior spiritual discernment. Eucharistic Ministers are needed to visit residents rooms to distribute communion. NO previous experience necessary— training provided. Days and times with openings are on Thursdays and Saturdays (weekly) and Tuesdays. A substitute minister is needed on occasion when the regular minister is unable to attend.

Mass Helpers are needed to help transport wheel-chair bound residents to and from Mass and help with communion. Day and time with an opening is Fridays from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.

NFP TEACHERS & PROMOTERS NEEDED: The demand for NFP (Natural Family Planning) is on the rise but unfortunately the Diocese of Madison does not have enough teachers to cover the need. Project FACE: Is a combined effort on the part of four mental health agencies (Catholic Charities, Family Services, Lutheran Social Services and Mental Health Center of Dane County) in order to provide mental health services to Dane County residents in need. MOM CHRISTMAS DINNER

Christmas should be a joyous day of celebrating the birth of our Savior. You are invited to bring your family and friends to feast on a turkey and ham dinner with all the trimmings. Everyone is welcome without charge.

Sign-up for both workers and food donations for the MOM Christmas Dinner is at the University Avenue entrance to the church after all the Masses on December 6-7 and 13-14. Any questions, please call Barb Roberts, 831-1281.

Need a ride to dinner or a meal delivered to your home? To make arrangements, please call the MOM Office, 836-7338. Delivery area includes: west of Midvale Blvd. and north of the Beltline; east of Cross Plains and south of Waunakee.

MOM Pantry Donations:  During the month of December, our parish will focus on Peanut Butter & Jelly to help provide items for the pantry. Items always in need are: Diapers-size 4-6 and pull-ups; Jelly in plastic jars; 100% Juice; Green Beans; Rice; Canned Tomatoes; Boxed Potatoes, Stuffing and Crackers; Pancake Mix; Toilet Paper; Laundry Soap and Dish Soap.

CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

This Catholic anti-poverty program supports grassroots programs aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty. In Beloit, CCHD funds are helping build youth leadership and recreational programs along with looking at juvenile justice programs to promote service instead of fines. In Madison, the funds are building a pilot program to help disabled and others in need be successful in jobs. Your generous contribution helps low-income people. MIDDLETON SENIOR CENTER NUTRITION

Come join us for a meal, friendship, and conversation in our bright and open dining room. Meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 AM. The cost of each meal is $5.75. For diners over age 60, please donate what you can afford. Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels) are available for homebound seniors. Please call the Middleton Senior Center at 831-2373 if you or somebody you know could benefit from these services.
